I lost count of the amount of times Silverwood referred back to the VR yesterday to check 'obstructions'. This is becoming more and more regular with referees and it needs sorting out. It's basically discouraging clubs from using tactics such as dummy runners and second phase plays, (not that we do anyway) and the amount of trys (good trys) that are wiped out because of 'an obstruction leading up to the try' is ridiculous and needs looking at imo. Whats everyone else's thoughts on the matter?

really needs looking at, some weeks they give them and other weeks they dont. consistancy will do me

time and time again im seeing plays which i think are tactically spot on being called for obstruction, surely your supposed to obstruct wannabe defenders anyway.....

I think thay's why dummy runners are becoming less prevailant....well they are at KC stadium. The grey area that is the obstruction law means it's down to which ever ref you have on the day.

And then some of the few he did gave were, at best, odd.

The try that was chalked off in the Leeds v Wire game when it was said Clarke obstucted a tackle was the worse video ref decision i have ever seen.

Was it Paul King v Leeds at the KC who was deemed to have obstructed resulting in a try of ours being disallowed by the VR ? That incident wasn't as bad as some of those that were let go (rightly) this weekend. Cummings has obviously introduced the random obstruction ajudication as part of the overall modern full-time referees' training schedule.

Agreed. Diskin must have ran 10 meters to tackle Clarke (and if he had stayed where he was he would have been in a position to prevent the try anyway).
