I always use Trainline. Their refund system is very good, plus you can collect Nectar points.
I'm pretty sure Hull Trains charge a booking fee but they do it within the price.

the timetables and tickets are usually out 3 months in advance, you can get some incredibly cheap fares if you get in early enough.
