In any squad you have to have a balance of young and old. Carvell would be a good signing to replace Ogre. You just cant have a squad of young players. People keep saying props don't normally mature until their late 20's early 30's.

I bet we could sign Mickey Paea for less than what Carvell would cost. Said in the paper that he wants another go in the NRL, but moving 5 miles across town would be easier! I'd like to think McRae and Gentle are doing everything they can to get his signature.

As much as I admire Carvell as a player I am not a fan of bringing back players who have left us. When times were hard Carvell couldn't wait to do one and I think as a club we should be setting an example to players that we only want winners and people who want to play for this club.



All that said, he will end up at Salford.

Not sure I'd be keen on this. Not because of the manner of departure, which was admittedly disappointing, but because of his age and potential fitness issues.
