I wouldn't have Deacon in the team, I'm just saying Pat Richards isn't the best kicker at the club.

Pat's problem isn't ability but consistency, he's shown he can be superb goal kicker, kicking them from all over the place, yet for some reason since going to the World Cup with Ireland he's lacked the consistency he had before.



Perhaps Pat would benefit from having a kicking coach brought in to refine his technique and get to the bottom of why he blows so hot and cold when kicking goals.

Get rid of him.

Problem is, it's our wingers scoring all the tries, which means they're mostly out wide. We need to go back to the "up-the-middle" stuff, so that what few tries we score are easier conversions...





(or, of course, keep scoring enough tries that the goals don't matter...)

Yeah, give him the boot.

Some of his misses were from eminently kickable positions. His style needs to change. He seems to be putting far too much power into his kicks at the expense of a more careful aim. Plus his kicks seems to be curving more compared to when he was at his most succesful period when the kicks were more arrowlike.

Yeah, he has no sole.

After Pat we have these choices:



Roberts, Phelps, Riddell, Deacon and even Leuluai.



Take your pick.

Riddell. If we are to miss the goals at least he can entertain the crowd while he does so..........
