| I'll never understand letting Mort or Morrison go, and Alstead scored 12 tries in 17 games before he was relegated to the reserves.
I've gotta say Ian made some very strange decisions last season for me. We need some quality, everyone else seems to manage it apart from us. Maybe we've no money from paying Paul and Bibey to stroll around the pitch?

| Morrison is way too light for a prop, no matter how hard he tries...
Mort just doesn't inspire confidence which is critical for a full back...

I guess the coaches see a bigger picture than we do. I've always reckoned that Mort has talent but needs some weaknesses addressing.(who doesn't?!) I like Morrison too, but he does need to bulk up a bit.
I'm with you on the quality issue - every team we play has got it - despite most enjoying lower gates than us. Still, let's wait to see what the squad building brings.

| Maybe Mort will go to Halifax? If this is the case then good on the lad.
Mort played 3 games last season and as such never had a chance to claim a regular 1st team spot. Obviously Millward did not rate him? Maybe they did not agree on certain issues? However Mort is not a Leigh player and as such i wish him well wherever he plays. His record speaks for itself in terms of number of points scored and as such will be a useful, honest signing for a good number of teams.

In the last game v Sheffield,Morrison(acording to the coaches stats,)on average made the most meters, actualy beating Hilly by .5meter.He also made 27 tackles, only 3 behind Hill, who had longer game time.he made 0 handling errors,0 mistackles and was not sinbinned. If you actualy watched the game you will remember he had 2 eagles off the pitch in the first 2 mins.Yes he is light for a prop, but in defence who has run over him,NOBODY,how many tackles has he missed during the last 3 seasons, very few.How many tries have come of his errors,(cant think of any,)Remember he gets little of the ball in open play, his yards are normally hard yards against a set defence.when he takes a big hit,(and ive seen him take many,)he just gets up and plays the ball.Nobody can question his courage or commitment, its just disapointing that very few fans,(The kevster apart,)see the hard work he puts in, for the team.Every team needs grafters as well as crowd pleasers and ball players!

| well said the scout, its about time people started really looking at what players do "good AND bad" maybe then they might notice their "golden boys" actually make as many mistakes if not more than the ones they constantly slag off on here

| Several of the released players are going to be a loss. As The Kevster says there have been some very strange decisions in terms of who is going and who is to be released. We will always watch and support them, but cannot say I am wildly chuffed about some of the decisions being made. The likes of Morrison, Alstead, etc will be missed by me. Whether anyone else rates them or not is another matter, but personally I would like to have seen them stay.

| This really is all about opinion so for what its worth the like of Alstead and Mcconnell have given great service but are not the same players anymore. Morty is a great lad but unfortunatley hasn't progressed under Basil to become our Full Back so there can be no sentiment in these matters and we have to accept Millwards descision. In the case of Morrison i am a fan he runs the ball in very hard an whether he is big enough or not hes a real grafter but i reckon the contract of Nash meens that he gets first choice at the starting lineup and for me he has done little to impress. For what its worth i'd like to see Doran back at Leigh being coached properly cut out his penalties and hes a fine player on his day.

| Has Morrison actually left?i think he is not a bad squad player ,a trier no doubt ,just a little light for his position, as for alstead, something went wrong for him during the season, wewill probably never know what.
