Win the play offs and technically finish third, get a trophy and get promoted.



Doesn't make any sense.

The side finishing second does actually get a small 'memento' (also known as I can't remember whether it's a cup or a shield) in recognition of being promoted, but I've never known it to be presented on the field or owt.

I get your point about state of the art stadium but, why ?



There is home advantage for the club that finishes 4th, it's not too hard to understand.

Plus, it's not exactly the Grand Final
