I do think G1 (and others) are right and Mr. Smith's comments could be in danger of seeming to compare Bestiality to Homosexuality. Needs to be careful there.

To be fair he has come out to try and make sure that his player does not get too much stick, the only issue is that he has not done a good job and made things worse.

It would have been much better to say nothing, let him cop a bit of stick and it would have gradually gone away. All that has happened is stoking things up a bit
